Terms of Service

Last updated September 23, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SteadyMeet ("SteadyMeet", "we", "us"). They govern your use of our website at https://steadymeet.com, the SteadyMeet web app, and our video meetings, calls, messaging, scheduling and file-sharing features (together, the "Service").

By signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organization. If your organization has signed a separate written agreement with us, that agreement takes precedence where the two conflict.

1. The Service

The Service lets you create workspaces, hold video meetings and calls, send messages and files, schedule meetings, and, where a host chooses to, record meetings and save transcripts. We may add, change or remove features over time. If we remove a feature you rely on, we will try to give you reasonable notice.

The Service is currently provided free of charge. If we introduce paid plans, we will tell you in advance, and you will never be charged without agreeing first.

2. Eligibility and your account

  • You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age for digital consent where you live if that is higher, unless you use the Service through an education workspace with the authorization of your school.
  • You sign in through a third-party provider such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, or your organization’s single sign-on. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity that happens under your account. We recommend turning on two-step verification.
  • Keep your account information accurate, and tell us promptly at legal@steadymeet.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. Workspaces and administrators

Each workspace is controlled by its owner. Owners and the administrators they appoint can invite and remove members, assign roles and permissions, set security requirements such as single sign-on and two-step verification, connect third-party tools, and access the workspace’s meeting recordings, transcripts, attendance records and notes.

The organization that owns a workspace is responsible for how its members use the Service, and for having a lawful basis for any personal data it asks us to process. Schools and other institutions that use education workspaces are responsible for obtaining any consent the law requires from students or their parents, and for supervising use.

If you join a workspace owned by an organization, its own policies may also apply to you.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you create or share in the Service, including messages, files, recordings and transcripts ("Your Content").

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, transmit, display and process Your Content, only as needed to operate the Service for you and the people you share it with, and to keep it secure. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain for a limited time in backups.

We do not use Your Content for advertising or to train artificial-intelligence models.

You are responsible for Your Content, and you confirm that you have the rights needed to share it.

5. Recordings, transcripts and captions

  • Many countries and states require the consent of everyone present before a conversation is recorded or transcribed. If you record a meeting or save its transcript, you are responsible for telling participants and for obtaining any consent the law requires.
  • Recordings and saved transcripts are deleted automatically 30 days after they are made. Download any copies you need before then.
  • Live captions are generated automatically by your browser and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Do not rely on them where accuracy is critical, for example for medical, legal or safety decisions.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break the law, or help anyone else to do so;
  • harass, threaten, bully or intimidate anyone, or promote violence or hatred against people based on a protected characteristic;
  • share child sexual abuse material or anything that exploits or endangers minors;
  • record, transcribe or share other people’s conversations without any consent the law requires;
  • infringe anyone’s intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • send spam or phishing messages, or distribute malware;
  • join or disrupt meetings you were not invited to, or share meeting links in order to let others disrupt them;
  • access accounts, workspaces or data without authorization, or probe, scan or bypass the Service’s security measures;
  • overload, interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure, including by automated or bulk access;
  • impersonate any person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with them;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, except where the law expressly allows it.

We may remove content or restrict access that breaks these rules. To report abuse, contact legal@steadymeet.com.

7. Guests and external participants

Hosts can invite guests, and people from other workspaces, to their meetings and conversations. These participants are labeled as external. The conversation, and anything shared in it, belongs to the host workspace and follows its settings. Hosts are responsible for who they invite.

8. Third-party services

The Service works with third-party services such as sign-in providers, Google Calendar, Google Classroom and your web browser’s speech recognition. Their own terms and privacy policies govern your use of them. We are not responsible for third-party services, and we may stop supporting any of them.

9. Our intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design and the SteadyMeet name and logo, belongs to SteadyMeet or its licensors. As long as you follow these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Service.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely, without any obligation to you.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, email legal@steadymeet.com. A workspace owner can remove you from their workspace at any time.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if we must do so by law, or if your use creates a security risk or could harm other users or us. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will notify you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

When your access ends, your licence to use the Service ends, and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. The sections on Your Content, our intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and disputes continue to apply.

11. Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep the Service available and secure, but it may sometimes be interrupted, for example for maintenance, because of network problems, or for reasons outside our control. The Service is not a replacement for a telephone and cannot be used to contact emergency services.

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, SteadyMeet is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 US dollars.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect the statutory rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

13. Indemnity

If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, that organization will defend and indemnify SteadyMeet against third-party claims arising from its content, its members’ use of the Service, or its breach of these Terms. This section does not apply to consumers.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where SteadyMeet is established, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be decided by the competent courts of that country.

If you are a consumer living in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in its courts.

Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@steadymeet.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes, and we will revise the date at the top when we do. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law or to address a security issue. If you do not agree to an updated version, stop using the Service before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the updated Terms.

16. General

  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • If we do not enforce a right, we have not waived it.
  • You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Neither party is responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
